Venice

Squirm - Venice (Instrumental Master)

Introduction

Venice is one record of an EP. The EP is somewhat symbolic of a weekend experience.

The experience starts at dusk on a Summer Dusk Friday, and ends late on a Summer Sunday night.

The idea is to have 5 records.

  • Venice (The Date)
  • Los Angeles (The Warehouse Scene)
  • Last Night (Night Drive to Palm Springs)
  • Jump Back To Me (The Pool Party)
  • Vibrate (The Club DTLA)

The short story involves a couple having a date night in Venice (Friday evening). They party at a Underground warehouse club Friday night after dinner. After parting, they travel to Palm Springs that night for their nightcap. They are attending a pool party at their hotel the next day, Saturday. After the pool party ending around 3pm, they relax, rest up, eat and then get ready for their trip back DTLA that same Saturday night. They are on their way to a club/ party their friends are having in DTLA. Each Record represents a vibe for each day. We are hoping to track you to the first Record "Venice". A 'California Summer' track.

The story has multiple versions of 2 characters. I wanted the record to show its support for all people. This is detail that helps when trying to picture the vision for the short film that goes along with the record.

The Date

πŸ’‘

Imagine a character with a positive mindset. The work day is coming to an end and with success. All good energy.

They've been anticipating the weekend the have planned, starting in 15 mins or so. Weekend plans with the person they have been dating. This relationship went from meeting through a group of friends, to starting to feel like they're going steady.

πŸ’‘

It’s 3pm. They are an early bird, and they start their day at 5 am

The lead character has a Cadillac, Eldorado and this is the first scene where they interact with the car.

First scene as lead character one gets into the car.

Its dusk now. The camera work will jump from inside the car and out while venice is playing. The music video is essentially he car drive to their restaurant spot. Lost of hair blowing in the wind, views of hands in the sky blocking the sun as the light glistens into the camera lense.

Arrive at the restaurant

The Warehouse Scene

Get into the car. Its dark now.

Los Angeles is being mixed and can be heard outside the warehouse while parking.

The Drive to Palm Springs

The Pool Party

Verse

I know you're watching from the window

Like a Satellite circles space

cause you are always in the back of my mind

if its the end I guess you win

cause you're always in the back of my mind

Verse

you are a perfect portrait picture

in a four dimensional frame

I will always let you in

the room beneath my skin

a place for all our waves to break

but these goodbyes are a waste of time

cause you're always in the back of my mind

can't let you in

won't give in

but you're always in the back of my mind

Bridge

Where am I?

Where do you end?

Where am I?

Where do you begin?

So lost in your embrace

I got lost out here in outer space
